Kirsten Cruz

Position: MA, LPC-A (Supervised by Joshua Freeman, LPC-S)

Kirsten earned a BA from Emory University in Psychology and African Studies and an MA in counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary. She currently holds an LPC-Associate license in Texas. Kirsten focuses on supporting couples by helping them improve communication patterns, resolve conflict, establish healthy boundaries, and foster intimacy and friendship. She believes committed relationships can be wonderful and life-giving, but she recognizes that sometimes past hurts and experiences get in the way of the intimacy people desire to experience with their partner. As a therapist, Kirsten believes that creating safe, accepting, and collaborative relationships gives people the foundation to grow and change. She believes in accepting people where they are, working with them to discover where they want to be, and encouraging them to make changes as they are ready. To her, it is important to talk openly and honestly about the client-therapist relationship and address any concerns the client may have. It takes a great deal of courage to be willing to reach out for help, and she is honored to be part of your journey.
