Sydney Goodiel earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Child Development from Texas Christian University. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Counseling at Southern Methodist University with a specialty in Marriage, Couples, and Family Counseling. Upon graduation, Sydney plans to pursue licensure in the state of Texas as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist while continuing specialized training in couples and relationship therapy.
Sydney is passionate about working with adults and couples navigating relationship concerns, communication challenges, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and interpersonal difficulties. She believes that strong relationships have the potential to foster healing and growth, and she strives to create a warm, collaborative environment where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered. Drawing from a systemic perspective, Sydney enjoys helping clients gain greater insight into themselves, their relationships, and the patterns that influence their lives.
Throughout her graduate training, Sydney has completed coursework in couples and family therapy, human development, multicultural counseling, assessment, psychopathology, group counseling, and sexual counseling. She has a particular interest in evidence-based approaches to couples therapy and plans to continue advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy and the Gottman Method.
Outside of counseling, Sydney enjoys going on walks (partially to see all the furry friends), needlepointing, spending time with friends and family, trying new restaurants around Dallas, and relaxing at home with her kitten, Poppy.
