Claire Salander

Position: MS, LMFT- Associate (Supervised by Emily Savage, LMFT-S), Advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples

Claire earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Southwestern University in Georgetown and her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Texas Woman’s University. She has advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples and plans to pursue full certification. Claire works primarily with couples and adult individuals, using a trauma-informed, somatic, and experiential approach to support deeper healing and lasting change.

In her work with couples, Claire supports partners across all stages of relationship, from those just beginning to build emotional foundations to those navigating the complexities of decades-long partnerships. She helps couples identify distressing, entrenched negative cycles and emotional patterns that keep them disconnected and guides them toward renewed closeness, emotional safety, and secure connection. Integrating mindfulness, attachment theory, and nervous system awareness, Claire helps couples move through pain and toward deeper connection with their bodies, relationships, and values.

In her work with individuals, Claire supports clients navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, shame, life transitions, and identity exploration. Her approach is compassionate, collaborative, and attuned, helping clients develop greater self-understanding, emotional regulation, and inner resilience. She works at a pace that honors each person’s nervous system, lived experience, and readiness for change, creating space for both healing and growth.

Claire is passionate about serving clients of all backgrounds, orientations, and spiritual frameworks, and she intentionally cultivates a therapeutic space rooted in trust, respect, and emotional depth, where each person feels deeply seen, supported, and empowered.

Outside the therapy room, Claire tries to balance mindful walks, meditation, and getting lost in good books with the daily joy of a sweet-treat and laughing at Instagram reels longer than she probably should. She has an orange tabby cat named Chicken who has her heart.
